Your Spanish cooking day
Travel from Madrid to a real rural village
Your hosts collect the group in central Madrid and travel to Zorita de los Canes, a village of around 70 residents beside the River Tagus. Olive groves, open countryside and a medieval castle create a setting that feels very different from a city cooking studio.
First: the Spanish omelette
Learn to prepare tortilla española and discover the small details behind one of Spain’s most-loved dishes – including the great question: with onion or without?
Then: paella
Learn about the ingredients, preparation and techniques behind a great paella. This is hands-on: help prepare and cook the dish, then gather around the table to enjoy it together.
Sit down and enjoy what you made
Once the cooking is complete, everyone eats together. Adults of legal drinking age can enjoy unlimited sangria, while alcohol-free drinks are available for children and guests who prefer not to drink.
Enjoy time in rural Spain
The day also leaves room to appreciate the village and surrounding countryside before returning to Madrid. It is a social food experience and a rural day trip in one.
Who is this paella experience for?
The experience is designed for families, couples, groups of friends, Madrid visitors and English-speaking residents looking for a memorable food activity beyond the city. Children can take part in age-appropriate tasks with adult supervision.
