Foodies and nature lovers adventure

A table with a variety of cheeses, bread, olives, meats and vermouth on a table for the Foodies and Nature Lovers Adventure.

For those of you who want a slower paced adventure. It’s all about the food. We showcase the wonderful produce from the region of Castilla-La Mancha with daily meals of locally farmed meat, manchego cheeses, black garlic, honey, organic olive oils, Spanish omelette, vegetables and sourdough breads.

A typical day includes a tasting menu at lunch, shared plates or tapas for dinner, wine tasting and a presentation or guided walk on a theme related to food or wine production: a walk through the olive groves, a presentation about our bee hives, a visit to the olive press.

Our 5-day adventure also includes 2 cooking classes with our in-house chef and a visit to our local winery.

  • One-day option: 200€ (Shuttle included)

Weekend option in a shared room starting from: 600€

Five-day option in a shared room starting from: 1,350€

  • Escape the bustle of Madrid for this food and nature “taster” one day adventure. The highest rated day trip in Spain for good reason with every one of our 500 plus guests leaving a 5 star review.

Visit us in our idyllic village and sample locally-sourced produce and food products in a spectacular setting: a home built into the walls of a Moorish castle.

Tour escape tunnels under the castle and taste cheeses, baked goods, local honey, organic meats, wines, and more goodies. Then, explore the local olive groves, village, and the local countryside.

A small-group full-day “food and nature” tour in La Mancha. Sample  local specialties in a home built into a Moorish castle. Explore olive groves, the River Tagus, and the local countryside. Hassle-free round-trip transportation from Madrid with absolutely everything included.

  • The routes vary depending on the season, here are two examples of our favorites:

Almonacid - San Antón Refuge – Almonacid

     -Distance 6.5 km - Elevation gain 242 m - Technical difficulty: easy

-From the neighboring village of Almonacid de Zorita we ascend to a hermitage at the top of the Sierra of Altomira, and then a short descent to the San Antón Refuge and Fountain: a beautiful, secluded picnic area full of delicious fig trees.

-Return to Almonacid enjoying the spectacular, panoramic views of the Tajo valley, and finally visit the village which has an interesting connection to a famous Spanish poet.

Village of Buendía - Ruta de las Caras

    -Distance 14 km - Elevation gain 150 m - Technical difficulty: easy

-From the town of Buendía we head towards the famous Route of the Faces, a winding path where we will find a series of faces, figures and symbols sculpted in the limestone rock. This section can be quite busy, but the rest of the route is quiet. In summer avoid walking in the afternoon heat!

-We will enjoy a beautiful, panoramic view of the Buendía reservoir, the fourth largest in Spain, and finally by a different path return to the charming, historic town of Buendía.
