What are the routes for the Trek and Tasting adventure?
The routes vary depending on the season, here are two examples of our favorites:
Almonacid – San AntĂłn Refuge – Almonacid
-Distance 6.5 km – Elevation gain 242 m – Technical difficulty: easy
-From the neighboring village of Almonacid de Zorita we ascend to a hermitage at the top of the Sierra of Altomira, and then a short descent to the San AntĂłn Refuge and Fountain: a beautiful, secluded picnic area full of delicious fig trees.
-Return to Almonacid enjoying the spectacular, panoramic views of the Tajo valley, and finally visit the village which has an interesting connection to a famous Spanish poet.
Village of BuendĂa – Ruta de las Caras
-Distance 14 km – Elevation gain 150 m – Technical difficulty: easy
-From the town of BuendĂa we head towards the famous Route of the Faces, a winding path where we will find a series of faces, figures and symbols sculpted in the limestone rock. This section can be quite busy, but the rest of the route is quiet. In summer avoid walking in the afternoon heat!
-We will enjoy a beautiful, panoramic view of the BuendĂa reservoir, the fourth largest in Spain, and finally by a different path return to the charming, historic town of BuendĂa.
